Alekisio had to perform for his school's church on the 14th. He was being silly as you can see in the first picture. By the end his new "basketball" shirt that he refused to take off was untucked and hanging out. Directly after the performance he came right over insisting to take off his button down shirt. He's obsessed with "basketball" shirts and shorts. We went shopping for bigger clothesrecently and that's all he wanted. Anyway, I love watching him because he really only pays attention and does the fast and noisy parts. When I have more time I'll try and upload the video.

Country Fair
One of the activities his school did to raise money was a fair. It rained so I it was a little tighter than everyone would have liked in the game area but it was still fun for the kids. We even won some fish that are still alive! The fair was March 9 so I'm a little late posting but better late than never. We took Alekisio's friend Lucy with us. According to Alekisio he's going to kiss her after his mission. When I suggested she may not want him to he said,"I'm going to kiss Lucy and she'll like it." That's quite the confidence. We got to the fair and they were immediately enamored with the dunk tank. I however didn't want to get rained on so we did games, won prizes, did face painting, and ate cotton candy. We weren't really there long but they enjoyed themselves. I think they're favorite part was dunking the pastor.

I don't know if you can see but the ball is next to the target
I think my favorite part of the night was when Alekisio had to pee really bad. He probably just wanted to pee outside. So Aisea told him to pee on the fence. I heard Aisea say, "Not all the way! Oh well." And when I looked up I saw this.
That's my boy!

Discovery Center Excursion
I try to be as involved as I can at Alekisio's school. I think it's really because my mom had to work and never got to. I don't want to miss those opportunities. So I brave the school bus ride, motion sickness and all, and attend as many field trips as I can. I have a great friend who will endure Isabelle crying for the first hour after I drop her off and babysit for me. We went to the discovery center which has areas for the kids to use their imagination and teach them about the world we live in at the same time. Alekisio loved it. Afterward we walked to the beach park across the road, ate lunch, and took a walk until it sprinkled on us. As I was taking pictures of the kids sitting on the wall with the ocean behind them I was thinking how lucky they are to hang out by the ocean on their field trips.
Scarface
Alekisio has always been one to get scrapes everywhere. Just the other day he got one I don't have a picture of so I included a picture of one from superbowl sunday. He and his friend Brandon decided to tackle each other on the bed because it's soft and safer. Except that Brandon tackled Sio right off the bed and onto a box they had dumped out on the floor. The other day however was more Alekisio's fault. After dinner Aisea was putting them in the bath. Let me just say that I usually do it and before I put them in I make sure to take out my razor or whatever they aren't supposed to get into. So Aisea put Alekisio in and was letting him play a little without Isabelle. We live in a small one level apartment and are able to see and hear him in there so we don't sit with him at his age. Well I was getting Isabelle ready to go in and I heard him whimper. I thought it sounded weird so I looked in and saw nothing. However when Aisea took her in he started getting upset and asking Sio what he was thinking. So I went in and his upper lip was gushing blood. Alekisio knows he shouldn't touch my razor but he did. As soon as Alekisio realized he was bleeding he started freaking out. Aisea got him washed and I got him some toilet paper to wad up and put on it. When I finally got him calmed down I asked him why he touched my razor, and he said he wanted to shave like daddy. He'll never touch a razor again that's for sure. It wasn't a very big cut, just a little slice right at the top of his lip, but it was bleeding alot. Alekisio was so shaken he wouldn't move. He sat on the bed watching a movie with a wad of toilet paper on his lip all night. He's obviously one of those kids that has to learn by experience.

My amateur photography
Due to the bad economy and how much construction depends on the economy I have to take Isabelle's one year photos myself. Normally I love taking the pictures myself but milestones are usually left to professionals. However this morning we headed out to Moanalua Gardens near our house and gave it a try. It did because of traffic take me so long to get there that the lighting was really harsh and combined with a one year old who is constantly looking at the ground so she doesn't fall, or running away from me, it was a struggle. An hour and 45 pictures later these are the only ones I would consider using, and they're grainy for some reason. I wish Nikon d6o's would fall from the sky today.

The last two aren't pictures I would use but I liked them. Isabelle is pointing at the ducks. She stood up there on the ledge(with me holding her hand of course) yelling at them for awhile. I think she was frustrated that they wouldn't come to her. A few times she tried to climb in and get them. There were big koi in there too that she was trying to get. When all is said and done we had fun. We'll just have to have another photo session with some help, and in the evening when the light is better.

Happy First Birthday!
Isabelle's birthday was March 10th. She's my big one year old girl now. Some of her favorite things are baths. She tries to climb in the bath whenever the door is open. She loves opening cupboards and drawers. She does love to kiss her babies but isn't into really playing with them just yet. My hairbands frequently become bracelets, and she's starting to love hats. Shoes have been an obsession for awhile now, however she's starting to bring us her shoes when she wants them on, and when we're in a store and she spots shoes her's automatically come off so she can get new ones on.

All About Isabelle
Above are pictures of Isabelle at 11 months, 10 months, and playing at Alekisio's school. She loves playing there with all the big kids. I love that picture because she makes that face whenever she gets really happy. She also growls all the time. I don't know why but she does. She'll just stand there and growl. This was one of the first days that she got to wear her new shoes. Isabelle is a shoe girl already. She was walking around the store with her balloon in one hand and whatever shoe she could grab in the other. I'm sorry Walter that I'm such a bad blogger lately. I'm a little scatterbrained lately.
