Lani Kai

This is at Lani Kai beach, our favorite. Chris and Walt buried the kids. Isabelle was right in the hole helping to dig, which didn't help because she kept making the sides cave in.
Alekisio has always loved the water but Isabelle is a natural. She lays in the waves and swims with no fear.

Onboard the Stennis

When Walter first got here Alekisio was so excited because he wanted to go on the ship. It's huge, but when I think about being on the ocean on it, somehow it seems small. The most exciting thing about the ship at first was that Alekisio was going to meet a pirate. Walter's friend Chris was the pirate. He stayed with us a few nights, and the whole time he was with us his name was Chris the pirate. Alekisio loved being on the ship and at one point when he was walking up the stairs he said,"Wow this is the coolest thing I ever saw!" We saw the tiny little cubby Walt sleeps in, and got to on deck to see all the "birds". It's really crowded up there which confused me because I thought the planes needed a bigger runway to take off. I got to learn how they're catapulted off the ship.

This is Alekisio in Walt's gear that he wears on the flight deck.

This is Walt and Sio in front of Walt's bird. I don't know what it's called but it does radar I think. Alekisio really remembers what it was like in the ship because we were watching NCIS and he came out of his bedroom and saw the stairs(they were on a ship)and then a room that looked like Walt's shop and he said,"That's where Chris the Pirate lives!" I was amazed because it really did look like the room where he met Chris. I really enjoyed being on the ship. Getting on there was so much security, and guys guarding the entrance to the ship had huge guns. I really liked that every time someone walked on or off the steps to get in the ship they turned to acknowledge the flag. I was a little confused at first because you can't actually see the flag, but it's there at the front of the ship. Every time we went to get Walt people were coming and going in groups. I kept imagining my grandpa's when they would come into port. Not much has changed so did they dock in the same spot? I imagine that the excitement of getting to port is the same, the groups coming on and off in shifts the same, just different clothes. I'm glad that I've had the opportunity to live somewhere so flooded with military. Living here you never forget the sacrifices made for our country because your faced with it on a daily basis. Anyway enjoy the pictures!

Good Friday

I know this is a really late post. On Good Friday our Primary(the church's children's organization) had a family temple day. We went to the visitor's center in Laie and watched movies. The children then looked at everything else and did a little workbook. Isabelle spent the whole time running around. As a matter of fact so did Alekisio. I think his favorite part was the fountain. Afterward we had a little picnic snack and the kids ran around on the lawn outside the gates. As you can see the temple is looking a little grey not white. It's closed down until next year for cleaning and remodeling. All the paint has been stripped. It's really strange to see a temple looking so grey, but I'm really excited for how it's going to look when it's finished, and I can't wait to take Alekisio inside for the open house. If you click on the picture you can see all the scaffolding and boards on the windows.
Isabelle carried this flower around and got really mad at me when I took it away in the car. I know I'm really mean, but she does eventually stick it in her mouth. As you can see the day wore her out! She was really tired and in no mood for pictures.
Alekisio and Montana playing by the fountain.
That's Alekisio on the edge on the floor. Isabelle is being held in the back row on the right, and the little boy, Ezra, that the young women make Isabelle kiss is on the left being held.

Very late Easter pics

My camera isn't working so I don't have any pictures from Easter Day. I will make them get dressed up when it's working to get pictures of their outfit. This is an egg hunt that we at Tutu and Me. Isabelle put the egg in her basket, and then took it out and dropped it through the holes in the fence. Unfortunately she's allergic to eggs so she didn't get to enjoy them at home, but Sio did.

Who's the boss?

Isabelle of course! He better remember it too!

Hand in hand

Isabelle loves to walk all the time now. It's much easier to grab her and go and so I've taken advantage of that for as long as possible. However now that she can say things like, no and stop, she is communicating much more. She can't say down but she points and grunts or whatever she needs to do to get down, including throwing herself toward the ground. I realized quickly that she will willingly hold Alekisio's hand. Probably because even though he aggravates her nonstop she adores him. He takes his job very seriously too. He gets nervous and overly protective all the time. I love that and I hope even though they may not like each other all the time they'll always have the bond they have now.

Isabelle loves to talk on the phone. Now she just holds it to her ear with her mouth open. For months though she would talk and talk to my mom. This is her talking to grandma on the phone. I have a feeling I'm in trouble when she's old enough to talk to her friends on the phone. I've always had an aversion to the phone, but I don't think she inherited that gene.
