Old MacDonald had a farm
We went to harvest tapioca, or yucca. I'm not sure how to spell the tongan word but whatever you choose to call it, we went to the north shore to get some. Aisea thought it would be a good thing to do as a family and the kids could learn how to farm in the process. Alekisio had fun with his cousins helping Aisea by taking the harvested tapioca to the truck. I learned how to harvest and replant and just liked being with my family. Isabelle however hated every second. The minute she had to walk through some brush the crying started. You can see in the picture that Aisea cut a banana leaf down and laid it out for her to sit on. She hated that too. I took her to sit with her cousin and eat some bananas fresh from the tree, and some juice. That wasn't making her happy either. The only thing that made her happy was getting in the car and falling asleep. Aside from the crying we had fun. And if we ever had to live in tonga I wouldn't look like the dumb palangi (white person) who doesn't know how to do anything. That always makes me happy. I have to say it was pretty cool to cut our own bananas and bring them home fresh.

Picasso and the Diva
Alekisio got a car piggie bank for Christmas so a few weeks ago we painted it. He was very detailed about how he painted. I was very impressed at how well he did paying attention to what he was doing. It was definitely a new thing. We will definitely be doing more painting when we move! Isabelle wasn't really into painting. She was more interested in her hair. I mean who wouldn't want that look right?
