Just cute pics

Isabelle loves to swing. The other thing she loves are shoes. Alekisio had just gotten a new pair of slippers and Isabelle loved them. Every time he took them off at the park she sat down to take her's off and put his on.

FOUR!

Alekisio turned four on Wednesday. At about 1:45 he got up to go to the bathroom and had to check and make sure it was his birthday. Then when he woke up at 6:45 he stood up on the bed and asked me if he's bigger. All day he was asking when we were going to his birthday. I have to confess that I didn't plan anything except a family party. He wanted Gyoza dumplings for dinner, which he ate for breakfast, and wanted pizza for dinner. It was raining so we couldn't go anywhere. My friend Jaime saved the day. We went over there and she had hung balloons from hooks in the ceiling. He loved it. He kept saying,"Thanks for my balloons!" I got to run to the store without children(it was the best) and grab pizza for dinner. I realized that Alekisio was going to be super disappointed if he didn't have some kind of party so we invited Jaime and the family, and Maile and kids over last minute for pizza and cake. Who could turn that down? So I picked the kids up, came home for their nap, made the cake, cleaned the house, decorated the cake, and made the pizza. Alekisio was really excited to have his friends here. He didn't care about anything else, to him that's a party. The cutest part of the day was when Alekisio and Lucy were pretending to dance and he was dipping her. She was so focused on good form, and he was looking at her so intently and focused. I don't know where they got it from but it was super cute.

He's got style....

or not. I have to admit, it's a little embarrassing to take him places in some of his outfits. There are days where I can sway his choices, there are others where it's impossible. I never had a problem taking children out in dress up clothes when I was a nanny, and Alekisio has left the house as spiderman. There's just something different about mismatched everyday clothes. Other parents don't know if I put that outfit together or not. I really don't care anymore. I'm not going to limit his creativity by telling things don't match. I'm not very adventurous when it comes to clothes and I always wished I could think a little more outside the box artisticly so maybe he will. He also just got his hair cut. First he wanted all the sides long, because he didn't want a haircut, then when he knew he was losing that battle he wanted the top long. He came out of the bathroom and I didn't really like it so Aisea put some gel in and spiked it. Now we have a very vain little boy on our hands. He's always putting gel in, checking himself when he sees a mirror, and every ten minutes I hear,"Mom is my hair o.k.?" He just turned four!
He also started telling me again yesterday that he's marrying his friend Lucy. Of course he's going to be a missionary first so he went to his room, got his white shirt on and was headed out the door. At least he has his priorities straight.

A little about Isabelle

This post might have more pictures than necessary but my camera has been broken so I guess I'm trying to make up for it. Above is a picture of Isabelle wearing daddy's hat. She loves hats and for some reason wants to wear daddy's dirty one instead of her cute one. She's still cute though.
The other day Isabelle brought my heels out of the bedroom and wanted to wear them around. they were mismatched but she didn't care. When we went to leave(above) I changed her clothes and went to put her favorite red sandals on but she started screaming and shaking it off her foot while pointing at my heels. I got her the matching shoe and held her hand all the way to the elevator and to the car. We walked sooooo slowly but she loved it. Daddy wasn't so sure about it but he'll live. The shoes were forgotten as soon as we got in the car and she couldn't see them on the floor so it wasn't a big deal. I love it though. I can't help it. I don't want her to grow up too fast but I can't wait until we can shop together.

That's her cheese face. Because this is kind of a journal for me(I'm making a blog book from last year's posts) I'm going to list some things Isabelle likes. When we're sitting on a bench or something she likes to climb up and sit on the edge so he feet dangle over with her hands in her lap. Nothing in the house is safe since she climbs everything like a monkey. Speaking of monkeys she likes to feel things with her feet. She likes to run around naked and she takes off her diaper now to do so, so I have to keep bottoms on her at all times. Alekisio isn't allowed to take a bath without her or the whole complex knows she's mad. Isabelle also likes to walk on her own down to the car and climb in all by herself. When I pick her up to put her in the carseat she gets really mad. She likes to carry around small objects, and also pens, pencils, markers, and anything that will write. At least she finds paper to write on now, before she would just color on anything. Isabelle has also perfected her girl scream and practices it on a regular basis. She walks around talking on the phone Uncle Walter gave her. A-low is her version of hello. She also says mommy perfectly, so I hear that all day. She says O Toodles, from Mickey Mouse Club House, daddy, byebye, baby, ball, and shoes. She folds her arms during a whole prayer also which is something Alekisio has yet to master, even when he's saying it. She also says mine and no, no, no. She not only says no, no, no, she shakes her finger at you while she's saying it. She's a bundle of laughs and I'm lucky she's mine!
Oh she also likes to do the downward dog pose and makes herself laugh all the time.

Little Princess

Isabelle is turning into quite a princess. She's loved bracelets, necklaces, shoes, and purses for awhile. Recently she's started trying to dress herself as well. Today she brought me her tutu to put on. I love it. Since I've only had a boy for so long I thought I was going to have to force her to be girly. Nope. She's a princess. We went to walmart for wipes this morning and I bought some tiny hairbands. She doesn't have alot of hair but I thought I would try one of those ponies on top of her head. I'm not a big fan of that kind but I'm dying to braid her hair and play with it. As soon as we got into the aisle she was making the "eh eh" sound and pointing to everything. She was trying to say other things to but I don't know her language yet. When I finally found what I wanted I gave them to her to hold and she just held on with both hands looking and talking excitedly. When we got home I did the top of the head thing, and it wasn't great but Aisea HATED it and pulled it out. I wasn't giving up though and we put in pigtails! They were so cute, and she was smiling like crazy. When Alekisio got home Isabelle's hair was the first thing he saw and he was cracking up. He laughed so hard he fell over, and Isabelle just smiled and giggled. They make me laugh.

This was her outfit, and that's her sitting in timeout. She's getting super sassy and hitting me when she gets mad. So this was her first timeout. She was bored as you can see. It's also the best picture of her pigtail I have, she's pulling on them in all the others.
