Isabelle's personality is starting to show through more and more. She's quiet and contemplative at times, looking over things or people, and thinking about them. She still loves learning through putting things in her mouth. Alekisio didn't do this alot and it drives me crazy. Buttons are another obsession she has. Sometimes she'll hold someones phone for ten minutes just squishing the buttons, sometimes the phone ends up in her mouth after ten seconds. Isabelle is definitely a girl. She loves any kind of phone, she puts it by her ear and it sounds like she's trying to say hi, sometimes hello. I had to put a piece of duct tape over the power button for the cable box. She discovered that when it gets pushed the screen turns on and off. I put a little peice over it, but since the button is in a little indentation she stuck her finger under it and pulled it off, then turned to me and smiled. I then had to go get a longer peice that started farther back on top and wrapped around underneath pretty far. She wasn't happy about that. Recently when she gets mad she starts yelling and talking at you really loud mixed with crying if she's really mad. I don't think I'm ready for when the words start coming in those moments. She's also started running away from Alekisio when he tries to move her, and the other day when he picked her up facing him she nibbled on his shoulder instead of the normal screaming. He's not used to her defending herself, but he's been warned.
When daddy gets home her face lights up and she now walks over and grabs his pants until he picks her up. Her first attempt to take a step was right before we went to the airport to fly to ohio. Then when my grandma and Aunt Connie came over they were the first to see her take about four steps. When we got home she was testing it out a few times a day until two days ago when she started walking everywhere. She still crawls occasionally but walking is always the first option. Isabelle loved the encouragement which I think helped alot. Alekisio would keep telling her to come to him and when she did he would clap and cheer for her while she just beamed with pride. Here she is walking! I recorded a little taste of her sass too.

Kung Hee Fat Choy!
Happy Chinese New Year! In hawaii it's celebrated in a big way. Schools have parties, and chinatown has a celebration all weekend where a lion goes around to all the stores. Alekisio had a lion dance at his school. We learned the difference between a lion and a dragon is a lion only has two people inside and its nose is green because it eats money. It was really cool, and the tail was hilarious because when they would stand still to eat the kid's money the guy in the tail would bounce it around. I tried to upload the video but it wouldn't work. There was a little girl in another class that was so brave. Her whole body was shaking the whole time the dragon was by her because she was so scared but she still stuck the money in his mouth.
Alekisio was excited that on our last whole day there it started snowing....the first in a long line of snowy days. We made the littlest snowman and Alekisio wanted to put a carrot for a nose but we didn't have any baby ones so he settled for an orange pepper. I also had to make snow balls for him to throw at me because he couldn't do it with gloves on.

So this is the best picture. It was Vanessa's shower and we bought some lingerie. Alekisio knew it was from us so he said,"I bought this for you. You want to put it on?" He also wanted to help open everything but had to settle for garbage man.
