Little shopper

We had to run and get Alekisio some school supplies that weren't on the original list once school started. I try not to get Isabelle something every time go to the store but she wants to write and do homework like Sio so badly I gave in. She chose a princess pen and a paper pad to write her name on. Usually I have her in a cart because she shops like crazy but since we were alone I thought I'd try having her walk. Once she had her purchases in hand I couldn't get over how grown up she was acting. That black purse is a coach purse I bought when I was single and rich. I don't think I'll ever be able to carry a purse that small again so she's claimed it. It was hot but she refused to take off her jacket. Isabelle hiked that purse up to her shoulder and walked around holding her stuff like she does it every day. I kept having flashes of her as a teenager, and quite frankly it's a little scary. But oh boy does she have her own personality and she's good for a laugh every day.

Kindergarten.....when did that happen?

Alekisio started school with no hesitation. There were some moments during the preceeding week that he said he didn't want to go. I think that was just because both kids have been a little clingy since they don't have dad around. However as soon as school started he was ready to go. I could never get him to write his name and within a week he was writing it really well. I'm so excited to see the progress he's making. Having a school age child is new so I'm trying to figure out how to deal with some of the trials that arise but I think I'm doing alright.

I wasn't sure if Alekisio would like packing his lunch especially when I realized that he's the only one in his class that doesn't buy. I'm so relieved that he still wants to pack. I'm not a fan of the lunches they have. Our deal is he can choose one day a week for lunch and one for breakfast. I wasn't going to give into the breakfast wish but he really really wants to eat there every day. Everyone I know remembers loving superdonuts, I don't want to be the mean uptight mom that says no to a classic like superdonuts, so once a week works for both of us. Besides the way his face lights up and the bounce he gets in his step when he gets to eat breakfast is worth it. I can't believe my baby is in school. I was searching through the kids pics for a christmas present today and it's amazing how fast they grow and change in a few years!

Lorain County Fair

I didn't get to go to the fair with the kids but I heard they had fun. Alekisio ate two hot dogs! He said his favorite animal was the pig.

The tooth fairy came!

The other day Alekisio was getting in the car and I noticed his tooth was crooked. I was a little nervous and it didn't cross my mind that he's old enough for a loose tooth. I had him open his mouth and when I touched the tooth it was loose. It took two days until it was loose enough to pull and then we tied a string around it ready to use the old slamming the door method. I tied the string on and as soon as the string started to get put on the door Alekisio starting freaking out a little. So my mom called him over so she could "inspect the string on the tooth to make sure mommy tied it right" and yanked that puppy out. He had no idea and just started laughing when he saw his tooth, he was so excited. He put his tooth in the hand of a ceramic fairy that my mom had and wrote the tooth fairy a note asking if he could keep it. Of course she let him and even left two dollars! This was last week and this morning Alekisio woke up yelling excitedly that he pulled out his other tooth. So he now has a huge gap on the bottom. I love it!
