The picture above is my first attempt at making my GG Grandma's macaroni salad. Just to help you pronounce her name you say the letter g twice. I don't know why but when I was little I started calling my great grandma by that name. Anyway on my mom's side of the family my mom is the one who always made the macaroni salad because she made it the way grandpa and GG grandma liked it best. My aunt makes it just as well but she likes real mayo and my mom likes miracle whip and everyone likes it tangy from the miracle whip. I was so afraid of mixing the vinegar, milk, sugar, and other things the wrong way I never tried until Alekisio's party. I bought everything and called my mom while I was mixing it all. It's hard to follow a recipe that has no measurements and I didn't trust my taste buds to know what to add more of. But I did it!!!!!! It was so GOOD! I can't wait to teach my kids how to make it!

Congrats! I love those kinds of recipes, once I have used the real measurement kind. Most of my recipes have measurements, but if you want it the way I make it, I just don't follow the directions that carefully!
I told mom to have you test it on Aleksio or Aisea. he would tell you if it was good. thats what mom does to me. while she mixes the vinegar and everything else she has me taste it and tell her whats needed.
good for you! I love the taste of Miracle Whip too...but deep down I always preferred the old fashioned way...with vinegar. But then good ol' Jerry Blazina made me some using the slaw dressing sauce that comes in a bottle? lost the brand name...but oh, my! Hers is always the best...and she also uses the same on her potato salad. Amazing! When I think of the brand, I'll let you know so the next time you might be in a hurry and this will do...very similar to the vinegar one.
